Properly preparing your vehicle before the auto carrier arrives ensures a rapid pickup and protects your vehicle throughout its journey.

Step 1: Clean both the interior and exterior of your vehicle. A clean exterior allows you and the driver to conduct a clear inspection and record any pre-existing scratches or chips on the Bill of Lading (BOL).

Step 2: Remove all personal belongings. While small items under 100 lbs stored in the trunk are generally permissible, personal items inside the vehicle are not covered by carrier cargo insurance policies.

Step 3: Check fluid levels, battery charge, and tire inflation. Keep your gas tank approximately 1/4 full—enough for loading and unloading, but light enough to reduce total trailer weight. Disable alarm systems and electronic toll passes to prevent unexpected charges during transit.

Step 4: Take photo documentation of all four sides of your vehicle, the odometer, and the interior before handing keys to your driver.
